Ishtar has been dancing from an early age, with a mixture of Polynesian dancing and
Ballet, she learned about movement using grace and elegance and also the power
of the island drums using the hips. This was a good foundation for her when she
finally discovered Art of bellydance. Ishtar is a natural dancer, and believes that
improvisation is most important where your free to feel and interpret the music in a
new way each time you dance to the same song. Her background in Ballet gave her
a natural grace and ability to follow the melody in the music intuitively. The
Polynesian dances prepared her to interpret the tabla in her own unique and playful
way. Ishtar admires the many Egyptian Stars for their amazing skills and styles,
which have been the influence in her dance.
