Mariah of Ohio, USA is a Multi Award-Winning Belly dancer and Instructor of the ancient art form
Mariah in her own words :
I’m from Ohio, Greek and Italian heritage. Since childhood I always studied dance, including belly dance. I discovered ™Habeeba’s Dance of the Arts belly
dancing studios of Ohio in 1991 and realized I found my mentor and dance home. In addition to studying personally with Habeeba, a belly dancer since 1960, I
was chosen to assist teaching her exclusive technique and choreographies at Habeeba’s studio in Columbus from 1997 - 2007.
I perform across the United States as a soloist and as a former member of Habeeba’s Danse Orientale Troupe. I was a featured performer with the Bellydance
Superstars and the Oojami band (UK) on their U.S. tour.
I’m a Multi- Award-Winning Performer having won competing in 2006 at the East Coast Belly Dance Classic, Personal Best Middle Eastern Dance Competition, Za-
Beth’s Annual Diva Pageant, and Jewel of the Nile. 2007 Winner in the East Coast Belly Dance Classic and Za-Beth’s Diva Pageant.
2008 Personal Best Middle Eastern Dance Competition and The Midwest Bellydance Challenge winner in Professional Category. 2009 Finalist in The Bellydancer
of the Year Competition.
I consider myself an energetic, graceful dancer with a tremendous repertoire.
In addition to dancing, I’m proud of my work as a Fine Artist. I earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts and I’m a candidate for my Master of Fine Arts. I’ve exhibited and
sold my artwork in galleries, museums, and universities throughout the United States for 20 years. My paintings can be viewed in both public and private
collections.
